Love dessert? A dessert charcuterie board is an easy way to sample a bunch of sweet treats without spending all day baking. Making a dessert tray helps you minimize prep work while still giving your guests lots of options.

Looking for some ideas on the internet to make my own dessert charcuterie board for the holidays I honestly had a hard time choosing form so many awesome ideas out there, yes, sometimes the more options you have, the harder it is to choose from, So I decided to gather some of my favorite ideas out there and share them with you!

Here is a list of some ingredients you can use. Remember “the sky is the limit” when it comes to options! But here are some you might find a good idea to add to your board to satisfy every sweet tooth:

  • Candy: Chocolate bars, M&M’s, marshmallows, gummy bears, truffles, peanut butter cups, skittles, etc.
  • Fruits: fresh, dried or candied
  • Cookies: sugar cookies, meringues puffs, wafers, chocolate chip cookies, graham crackers, macaroons, etc.
  • Baked goods: mini cakes & mini cupcakes, cake-pops, mini pies, doughnut holes (you can cut the cake into bite size pieces)
  • Salty / sweet snacks: chocolate-covered pretzels, popcorn, caramelized nuts.
  • Frostings, fudges and glazes: Chocolate or caramel sauce, vanilla buttercream, marshmallow dip, etc. 
  • Any of your other favorite treats!

How To Build a Dessert Charcuterie Board

  1. Pick a theme, (birthday, holiday, dinner party) That will help you choose your ingredients.
  2. Keep in mind your setting in case you have easy melting ingredients during a hot summer garden party or so. 
  3. Lay out all of your treats, desserts, candy, fruit, etc. so you can have a visual on all sizes, shapes and colors.
  4. Bring out your board (it can be a cutting board, tray,  serving plate if you don’t have a charcuterie board)
  5. Start of the center of your board alternating sizes, colors and flavors creating shapes if you like to crate more visual interest.
  6. You can use small bowls or ramekins for smaller ingredients, nuts, fudges, or even ice cream!
  7. If needed, place some cutlery near by.
  8. Garnish with fresh fruit or flowers (If you want to level your dessert board up, you can find edible fresh flowers at your grocery store!).
  9. Serve and indulge!
