I love this room, primarily because of the gorgeous piece of art painted by my cousin Jeremy Hansen. It is such a special piece in our home and it really pops against the dark wall (Peppercorn by Sherwin Williams). I was thrilled when the room was featured in San Antonio Magazine in 2018! I love that our dining room can take on an entirely new look by temporarily moving the painting and using the wall above the buffet as a focal wall. Here is an example of how I styled the room for a Thanksgiving table shoot. I love creating a special tablescape for our holiday meals or whenever we have guests in town. Some weekends we’ll have “fancy dinner night” where we eat in the dining room instead of the kitchen table and I let my daughters set the table however they like.
