Black and White Office: Inspiration

January 16, 2011 | FILED UNDER: Uncategorized
Shortly after we moved into our condo, we decided to paint the then cream-colored office and guest bedroom an icy blue. I’ve never been super crazy about the color, partially because I had a hard time figuring out what to do with it. Then I found these pictures of an entryway that had paired similar light blue walls with a big contrast of black and white. I thought it looked pretty cool, and decided to give it a shot:

I liked the idea of painting the molding black and the recessed panels in the door black. You could probably do this with any accent color in a room and make it look cool. We have both molding and recessed panels in our doors and on our closets, but I’ve been too chicken to try that bold of a paint job thus far!

  1. I like the black moldings too, but also feel like there needs to be consistency through a house, so I just leave them white. Maybe I'll paint my front door one of these days. Maybe. Love looking at your stuff. I'm a diy/house blog junkie!
